Setting goals for the future is easy. Figuring out how to achieve those goals is much more challenging. As they say, "A goal without a plan is just a wish." In this session, we will provide an overview of the draft goals and indicators from the District and College Strategic Plans, as well as a preliminary set of strategies developed by SCC's College Council. We will then engage in an interactive process to generate additional strategies, using the lens of equity, student success, and anti-racism. All are invited and encouraged to participate.

This is a strategic planning session designed to generate input from all constituencies regarding the strategies the college will adopt to achieve our goals. While all of the goals reference equity, there is one standalone goal that focuses specifically on reducing disproportionate impact and maximizing equitable outcomes. The document that results from this session will then be reviewed and refined by College Council, and brought to the constituency groups for final approval.

During this session, participants will:

  • develop an understanding of the district and college strategic planning process;
  • gain familiarity with the strategic planning goals and indicators;
  • collaborate with others to develop approaches and strategies to achieve college and district goals.
