Davis Center Welcome (Orientation)

For new faculty and experienced folks, this is an opportunity to talk about how the Davis Center works as a learning community. This is an orientation and overview of services available at the Center, both on ground as well as our remote/online operation. There will be an opportunity to meet the staff as well as a chance to share experiences and talk about teaching and learning in Davis.

Andrea Gaytan, Dean of Davis Center & West Sacramento Center. Andrea Gaytan served as the founding director of one of the first undocumented student centers in the nation at UC Davis. The AB540 & Undocumented Student Center was a safe space for immigrant students, their families and the community at large, and was at the forefront of a statewide movement for equitable education access and resources to undocumented individuals. Under Andrea’s leadership, the Center saw a 500% growth in the undocumented student population at UC Davis. Gaytan now serves as the Dean of the Davis and West Sac Centers of Sacramento City College where she is also a Tri-Chair for the Undocumented Student Workgroup.
