This workshop highlights the findings from my research on promising practices that support Black DSPS students in both instruction and student services. Through student interviews and focus groups, students described what practices were most supportive of their success. I hope you will join me to participate in discussions that support Black student success.

About the Presenter
Dr. Toni Newman is the DSPS Coordinator/Counselor at Sacramento City College. Her research explores promising practices that support Black disabled community college students through the lens of disability critical race theory. Her overarching belief and personal philosophy is that every person, without exception, is here on the planet for a reason. We are all here to make the world a better place within our sphere of influence.
