Innovative English folks from Las Positas College Kisha Quesada Turner and Michelle Gonzalez invite all faculty to consider how we can value the richness of the many Englishes our students use to speak and write. We'll consider linguistic hierarchies and how they are perpetuated in higher education, reflect on our biases, and how we can begin to be more equitable in our assessment of student writing.

Audience

All faculty and staff, especially those who teach, assign, and/or assess student writing are encouraged to attend.

About the Series

Sponsored by SEAP, this workshop is the first of a monthly Community of Practice in Linguistic Justice this fall. Participants in this Community of Practice will receive a stipend for their participation and completion of their own linguistic justice project.

Flex Credit

Flex credit is available for this event.
