Samantha Ramirez has been working with K- 12 students for six years both in and outside of the classroom at various school districts and at UC Davis, always placing empathy and social justice at the forefront of her work. Her passion for working with youth and young adults comes from a desire to uplift students to see themselves as creators of knowledge and changemakers of the world. She is committed to leveraging her diverse educational background in STEM and Chicanx Studies to provide guidance, support, and resources to help BIPOC and other historically minority communities thrive academically and personally. Samantha believes that if you can name something you can change it. In her new position with us as a Student Support Specialist, she is excited for the possibility to lead more identity workshops where students can explore their multipotentialities and intersectional identities. The goal is to give students the tools and support to understand and navigate the challenges of being a person of color in higher education and the world. Samantha excitedly looks forward to being part of the team and working with students at Sacramento City College.
