This professional development event is an equity-based experience as the goal will be to develop and write effective course content for all students pursuing a S.T.E.M. degree that may not have the necessary prerequisite content knowledge due to the recent guidance and implementation of AB-1705.
The innovative course, Math 386 - Preparation for Calculus, has never been offered within the Los Rios district. For reference, AB-1705 requires that students be placed directly into the first course in their degree path (for S.T.E.M. students, this will be either Math 400 or Math 355), regardless of their prerequisite mathematical knowledge and skills.
