First introduced at the Fall 2024 Convocation, the SAC Institute is a proposed college-wide equity-based academic institute grounded in culturally affirming academic pathways, community, and cohort learning with the goal of closing the equity gaps in course completion and transfer for our most disproportionately impacted students. President Garcia, Vice President of Student Services Davin Brown, and Vice President of Instruction Devoun Stewart will report on the first round of stakeholder engagement sessions held in the fall term.
All classified professionals, faculty, student leaders, administrators, and supervisors are invited. We encourage you to attend and engage in an interactive presentation, as your voice and expertise are crucial to the institute's success. The presentation will focus on the SAC Institute’s purpose, history, conceptual design, learnings from stakeholders, and next steps. We will be slowing down the rollout of the institute to Fall 2026 and appreciate your continued engagement.
