AI-Powered Rubrics: Save Time, Support Students, Grade Fairly with Khanmigo (Center for Online Teaching and Learning)

Tired of spending hours crafting rubrics from scratch? What would you do if you could get someone else to revise your rubrics until they are clear, effective documents for student success and consistent grading for you! In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to harness the power of AI to create clear, effective rubrics that support student learning and make grading more objective—and less time-consuming. We'll explore how rubrics help students meet learning outcomes, how to structure them for clarity and fairness, and how to prompt AI tools (like Khanmigo) to generate and refine rubrics for your assignments.

Whether you're new to AI or already experimenting, you'll leave with practical prompting techniques, editable rubric templates, and a smarter, faster approach to assessment.

Be ready with at least one of your rubrics you are willing to share with your colleagues and work on in the workshop. I will be extra excited if it is from a project that is difficult for students.
