This session unpacks the distinction between AI Literacy—understanding what AI is and recognizing its impact—and AI Fluency—actively leveraging AI tools with critical judgment and ethical awareness.

We'll explore what both competencies mean for students, faculty, and staff, then dive into a Canvas-based AI Literacy module piloted last semester in Freshman Seminar classes.

You'll get practical insights on what's working, what's challenging, and what questions emerge when teaching AI competencies in real classrooms.

Come explore approaches for developing both literacy and fluency in your own practice and consider what might work in your courses and campus context.
