After a brief introduction, new and experienced players will participate in a generic roleplaying game:
- character creation
- play a short encounter
Workshop Objectives
- have fun
- develop teamwork
- utilize D20 game mechanics so that a fictional character can accomplish a task
- detach temporarily from reality by projecting oneself through characters who have agency in an invented world
Embracing traditional tropes of the hobby, players will engage in exploration, conflict resolution, and reward.
Ideally, participants will complete the session having experienced a fun collaborative storytelling game and gained appreciation for a hobby that for half a century has impacted our culture.
