As we step into 2026, Sacramento City College embraces the theme "Be the Change – A Journey Through Unified Belonging and Balanced Stewardship of Student Success."
Through this lens, we deepen our commitment to cultivating innovation, sustainability, and student-centered learning while strengthening the partnerships and professional development that sustain our collective growth.
We invite our community to engage in practices of cultural responsiveness, to explore the power of intersectionality, and to ground our efforts in fostering true belonging as the foundation for student success.
Highlights include:
- Messages from President Garcia
- Video vignettes from the student Social Media Team with the Panther Den
- Live music to start the morning off in the Performing Arts Center foyer
- Thoughtful insights from colleagues across campus on Belongingness
- Warm send-off from the Pride Center

Convocation Program
This is an in-person event and everyone is invited and highly encouraged to join us. A remote option is available for accessibility reasons-- please communicate with your division dean/manager regarding your attendance needs.
PAC 150
Zero Waste Event
Bring Your Cup and Utensils
Please help us celebrate this Fall 2025 Convocation by continuing our efforts in holding a zero-waste Convocation. We are asking all employees who attend the morning festivities to please:
- bring your own container for hot/cold beverages, and
- consider bringing your own plate and cloth napkin
to help us reduce our carbon footprint.
Compostable plates, utensils, and napkins will be available. But this is our chance to take the challenge to produce as little waste as possible, just by bringing materials from our offices and home to eat/drink from.
Be sure to talk to folks around you, remind your department members to bring their own cup, learn more about the three general waste streams we have on campus, and let's practice sustainability in action every day!
Bring a Non-Perishable/Canned Food Item for Panther Cares
We are thrilled to have our Panther Cares program leads join us in the foyer at the PAC to share the incredible services this area is helping provide to our students and offer campus members a chance to support students directly with non-perishable food donations to offer at the Panther Cares Center. Don't miss out on your chance to learn more about the tremendous impact Panther Cares has on SCC students and thank you incredible folks for making it happen every day!

ASL interpreters will be provided.
