In this session, faculty and administrative members of the Scheduling Communication Workgroup which met during Summer 2026 will share the outcomes of the group's work.
The purpose of the session is to develop a shared collegewide understanding of SCC's schedule development workflow.
Topics that will be covered include:
- the importance of this work in serving students
- five stages of the schedule development workflow
- a newly developed scheduling tool to improve communication between Divisions and the Instruction Office.
Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss:
- upcoming areas of work including finalizing the Instructional Services Office Division Scheduling Guidelines
- improving student access to course notes
- Title 5 changes in how course sessions are coded for modality
- future trainings
This session will be useful for all faculty and staff, especially faculty and staff who are actively engaged in scheduling such as Chairs and Administrative Assistants.
