Generative AI has changed the classroom, and many instructors are still figuring out how to talk to students about it. This session gives you a way in. Using data from an SCC student survey, current research, and real voices from real classrooms, we'll dig into practical strategies for having open, honest conversations about generative AI use — theirs and yours.
The session is built around three themes: Trust, Transparency, and Talking Through It. We'll look at how your own "why" can shape your AI policy, and we'll share classroom activities designed to spark dialogue instead of suspicion. Come ready to reflect and share — you'll leave with strategies you can use in your classroom right away.
Note: This is a repeat of the Fall '26 flex presentation.
