Home Collegewide Faculty/Instructional Forms Meta Major Lead Application

Equity Pathways (EP) is a grant-funded culturally responsive pedagogy (CRP) initiative to develop and deliver professional development to adjunct teaching and counseling faculty.  Since its inception in Summer 2024, three cohorts of faculty have successfully completed the highly-rated program.  At completion, participants will have designed and presented their evidence-based CRP action plan for interventions they will use to identify and address barriers to DI student success within their courses.   The intended purpose and outcomes for creating Meta Major Leads is two-fold: 1. To create an EP On-Demand platform for professional development open to all faculty post grant expiration, and 2. Develop a CRP training and development platform for faculty selected for the proposed CITY Scholars Academy scheduled to commence fall 2026.

Meta Major Leads (Leads) are requested for the Equity Pathways Program (EPP) to work collaboratively with the Director and Faculty Coordinator on enhancing curriculum content depth and breadth to ensure input from and applicability to various SCC areas of study.  The ideal candidates have a demonstrated commitment to anti-racism in education, understanding and application of culturally responsive pedagogy, and enthusiasm to learn and teach new concepts.

Commencing Monday, June 16, 2025 through July 25, 2025, Leads will virtually attend synchronous work group sessions on Fridays, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (to be confirmed; there will be no live session July 4, 2025).  In addition to these two-hour virtual sessions, Leads will actively contribute weekly to discussion board prompts, research and upload CRP content, and work collaboratively with other Leads for approximately 1.5 hours weekly independently.  Lastly, Leads will develop and present key evidence-based CRP takeaways and tools to their respective meta majors during the upcoming academic term. Upon successful completion, Leads will earn a $1500 stipend. Ideally, one faculty member from each meta major would be selected for a total maximum of six members. Full-time and Adjunct faculty are encouraged to apply.
