For the Team Excellence Award, a team is defined as a group of interdependent people who work collaboratively and closely together toward a common goal.

Team members may not nominate their own team.

For this award, a team is defined as a group of interdependent people who work closely together toward a common goal. The winning team should embody the criteria described below, and they must work collaboratively. This is an opportunity to shine the spotlight on programs of excellence at SCC. Only one team award will be given. Team members may not nominate their own team.

The Honors and Awards Committee will review each nomination for the Team Award. Please create a video nomination. Your video nomination can be up to 3 minutes long, and you will upload it to this form.

We encourage you to nominate a team that has not received the Team Excellence Award in the past 10 years.

Eight Criteria

Please explain (with examples) why this nominee should be considered for the Excellence Award using the following eight criteria: 

  • exhibits expertise in the job area
  • performs the job in an exemplary manner
  • works for the betterment of the college and its students 
  • demonstrates qualities of leadership and/or initiative
  • represents the college with distinction in professional and community activities
  • earns the respect of fellow employees and/or students involved in campus events
  • volunteers time and energy above and beyond the assignment 
  • promotes the values of anti-racism and equity-mindedness

Video Nomination

You may be as creative as you like in the video nomination. The video nomination may include PowerPoint slides, live footage of the team in action, narration, recording of a Zoom meeting, etc. This video will be shown at Fall Convocation to introduce the team. We ask you to provide sufficient information so the Honors and Awards Committee can evaluate all submissions as fairly as possible.
