Editorial Style Guide
This guide provides standards for writing clear, consistent content across Sacramento City College websites, newsletters, marketing materials, and other print and digital communications. Consistent editorial style helps strengthen the college’s brand, improve readability, and ensure our messaging is accessible to a wide range of audiences.
Writing for web and marketing communications differs from writing for academic publications, manuals, lectures, or formal correspondence. In some cases, we intentionally adapt or simplify traditional grammar rules to prioritize clarity, usability, and audience understanding.
If you have questions about editorial style or usage, email the Public Information Office at pio@scc.losrios.edu.
